Thinking About Starting Your Own Franchise?

November 14th, 2008

Franchise businesses are businesses that are modeled after the ideal that the company sets forth. This will give the customer some trust about the quality and consistency that they will receive through name recognition. These types of businesses are growing at a rapid pace, according to the International Franchise Association. About 400,000 such businesses employ nearly 10 million people with a payroll of $230 billion. However, they are often oversold and expensive to enter (perhaps $100,000.00 or more may be required in initial capital and they may have continuing fees which can be excessive). Know fully all the details and hidden costs and restrictions on your freedom of decision-making before you invest in a franchise.

Franchise businesses are known for being more successful than independently opened businesses. This is mainly because these businesses have already gone through opening and daily processes so they have most likely already worked out the bumps along the way. This type of business is operating in many sectors of the North America and global economy.

Franchisors will look closely at the number of their businesses that are in any one territory, as too many could damage the overall profitability of their operation. You should also look at all the necessary information to see how close other franchises are to your proposed operation. Franchisors keep the profits of the sales, which makes franchisees feel that their business value has been diminished, and their customer base within their promised territory violated. Franchisors, as the parent companies are known, can own some outlets directly while franchising others; franchisees can own one local store or dozens of branches across a city, but the basic relationship remains the same.

In conclusion, owning your own franchise can be a great business opportunity for you, but remember that it will cost you several thousand, or even several hundred thousands of dollars to get started. Entrepreneurs and business professionals alike are searching for better ways to live their lives without being trapped in a typical nine-to-five job. That’s why the focus has changed to the home based franchise business. Entrepreneurship is all about taking risks on business opportunities.

DUCTZ franchise

November 14th, 2008

For The Air You Breathe – For The Life You Lead
An emerging industry creates an entrepreneurial opportunity

DUCTZ Franchise Opportunity_6The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) reports that indoor air quality is four to five times more polluted than outdoor air. The EPA ranks indoor air pollution among the top five environmental risks to public health. Today’s energy-efficient homes and buildings are “airtight” and surprisingly good at trapping irritating airborne particles like dust, mold, pollen, insect remains and odors. The primary environment for these contaminants is the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) unit and ductwork. That’s because the moist, temperate environment creates an ideal habitat for mold, fungi, bacteria and other microbes to grow.
Where there’s a market problem, entrepreneurs search for a business opportunity

The solution for the removal of these contaminants from the environment is simple: clean the HVAC system. But to effectively clean an HVAC system, you need the right combination of patented DUCTZ Franchise Opportunity_1methods, superior technology and professional workmanship — qualities that are only available from DUCTZ, the indoor air professionals. Waterway Franchise

November 13th, 2008

Probably the Greatest Business Opportunity
in the Firefighting Industry
Waterway is the nation’s fastest growing provider of vital, annually required fire hose testing to America’s Fire Departments.

Waterway Franchise Franchise Opportunity_3Our state-of-the-art, ISO-certified, proprietary equipment delivers the most efficient testing system for Fire Departments and virtually guarantees repeat business. You benefit from our 20 years of experience and trade secrets. This is a low risk, steady growth, recession-proof business. Hose testing is an annual requirement of the NFPA, the official fire safety body. In most states, no formal competition anywhere means you can build your given territory your way.
This opportunity brings substantial benefits:Waterway Franchise Franchise Opportunity_4

* A huge market – there are approximately 60,000 fire stations in the US.
* There is a US government recommendation that every fire station has their hose tested each year. Every year you build on the year before. You rarely lose your customers.
* No formal fire-hose testing service currently exists in the USA with the right, time-tested equipment and experience that we have.
* There is an increase in federal and state pressure to place a higher priority on fire protection.
* Waterway has its own proprietary equipment and software recording system.
* In addition to testing, cleaning services can be sold to create an additional revenue stream.
* Extra revenue streams from ladder testing from 2009 and industrial testing – factories/plants which are subject to the NFPA regulations.
* Individual fire departments have 24/7 access to their records with their own individual user ID and password.
* There is a ready labor market – off duty firefighters are ideal and it gives them the opportunity to earn extra cash on their days off.
* Labor costs are low as no special skills are required.Waterway Franchise Franchise Opportunity_2
* Financial control systems and marketing materials have been specifically designed for our franchisees.
* Three days of practical and business training, using the equipment and learning to service the business, mean you’ll be able to make a start straight away.
* It’s an affordable investment.

In addition, you will operate in your own exclusive territory and can build a business that could be passed to the next generation of your family. You’ll run an enterprise that services the most respected community of all – the Fire Departments.
Is this the franchise opportunity for you?

Our ideal franchise partner is a career or volunteer firefighter, a retired firefighter or a person who knows someone with that background who can participate. While our franchise owners do not have to test hose themselves, many of them do. Their primary purpose is to run the business – promoting and selling the services, dealing with the Fire Departments and growing the enterprise. Importantly, they need to be good at leading a small team (usually a crew of eight, at least one of whom should be an off duty firefighter or similar), have a respect for the nation’s fire service and have connections with it, ideally through someone they know.

It’s a great environment to be a part of. It’s fun and it keeps the franchisee and crew in touch with the world they know and love.

Description: Waterway is the nation’s fastest growing provider of vital, annually required fire hose testing to America’s Fire Departments. This is a low risk, recession-proof franchise opportunity.
Opportunities: Franchises available throughout the US and Canada. Master licenses available in Canada.

Business Type: Franchise.
Minimum Investment: $70,000.
Financing Assistance: Yes, through a third party.

The Significance of Key Metrics in Buying a Franchise

November 13th, 2008

Assuming that a franchise candidate has found the system that matches their needs, their lifestyle, and they can see themselves owning that business, the questions of evaluating financial performance quickly arises.

Majority of people have little experience when it comes to buying a franchised business, new or existing. They often heard that franchising is a safer way to go, and; once they identify a franchise, they expect for financials to sort of “fall into place”.

Franchise buyers often get confused by the numbers presented to them during the due diligence process. During discussion with the franchisor and current franchisees they get exposed to all kinds of convoluted data and quickly become confused and hesitant. They start to realize that each franchise owner, even in the same system, has a number of circumstances (costs, location, taxes etc.) that make that business look, financially, different from the rest of units in that system.

There is a way to cut to through most of that. In my experience, the key to evaluating most businesses is the ability to identify key metrics (preferably one) that drive the business under evaluation.

For example, in most large retail clothing stores, it could be revenue per square foot. In most fast food businesses it maybe customers per day/week/month (assuming you know average sale numbers per customer). In service businesses, it’s probably revenue per customer. In marketing franchises, it’s likely revenue per ad/placement.

Once that one key number has been identified it is relatively easy to use those findings in building a basic cash flow spreadsheet on the way to incorporating it into an all-around business plan. Most importantly, that key metric will enable the potential franchise candidates to compare stores in the same franchise system to one another. Plus, it will provide them with key to understanding what drives that particular franchised business.

Perpetual Leverage Vs Franchise Ownership

November 13th, 2008

“I’ll take one pound of ham and one-no make that two-pounds of thinly shaved smoked turkey,” said a slim elderly woman who was little higher than the full cart of groceries she had pushed over to the meat counter.

Sam nodded as he picked up the last pair of latex gloves. It was a long, hot day. And he was just glad that Mrs. Parnick was his last customer. Normally he didn’t mind filling in after butchering for the day, but today seemed so long and boring.

While driving home, Sam began to muse over the situation. How could he make more money? What skills did he have other than butchering?

Then while waiting at the last stop light, his eyes caught the scene at the corner sub shop. “Look at that woman’s carryout bag-must be dinner for the family,” he thought. “And Grandma and Grandpa are heading in for dinner-whoops Pa not so fast; Ma’s trying to keep up.”

Scrutinizing the place, Sam thought, “It’s fairly well kept, and business is solid. Moms, Dads, kids, and managers-all sorts of people-bustle outside with their dinner. They are satisfied. The owner is, too, and boy do I wish I were the owner!”

Perhaps Sam’s fantasy is quixotic, but he has it, nonetheless, and he’s probably not alone. How about you? Has the thought of owning your own fast food restaurant, auto body shop, or retail store ever crossed your mind?

You can ascertain whether or not franchising is for you by asking some of the owners of your local franchises what the cons are. (Bring a notepad and pen.) To help you get started, here are few as compared with a typical home business.

Investment Requirements

First, let’s compare standard investment requirements. Franchise investments usually run anywhere between $60,000 and $500,000. This includes basic things like your land, building, machinery, and office equipment. That’s a lot of capital, especially in today’s financially turbulent times.

A small but solid home-based business will cost you considerably less because you won’t have the added expenses of land and building. Start-up cost is typically between $1,500 and $3,000.

Operating Expenses

In a franchise you will have to pay employee payroll, payroll tax, workers compensation, insurance/inventory, liability insurance, utilities, freight/postage, ad valorem tax, licenses/permits, advertising, telephone, franchise fees, depreciation, and sales tax just to keep the lights on.

For a home-based business, your expenditures are reduced but still existent. You will usually have to pay for liability insurance, utilities, telephone, advertising, and depreciation (e.g., office equipment).

Additional Considerations

And here are a few additional things to consider: Your gross franchising profit generally averages 30-40% with a net profit of around 5-10%. You will work at least 50 hours per week-closer to 70 and maybe even more. You shoulder 100% of the risk factor and leverage none of the compensation from others-that’s what you’re doing for your chain store. You will have tax advantages, but these will be offset by your unchangeable time commitment, need to supply products, and confinement to a fixed location as well as limited income potential which averages out to $35-85K.

With the right home business, you can make more gross and net profits working a flexible schedule and leverage your income to unlimited potential.

The light turns green. As Sam pushes the accelerator, what would you tell Sam to do?

What My Franchise Consultant Did Not Tell Me

November 13th, 2008

A good Franchise Consultant can be very helpful in assisting you with finding the type of franchise you might be interested in purchasing and with making you aware of and matching you with opportunities that are congruent with the amount of capital you have available or can acquire to invest. One of the fist things they will or should do is to find out what type of business or industry you are interested in (e.g. restaurant, computer service, shipping and supply, etc.), inquire about your preferred type of ownership (e.g. owner operators/active, absentee or passive), assist you with determining your net worth and to understand how much money you have available for an initial franchise investment. This is information that the consultant must know in order to accurately and effectively find opportunities that best suits you and your financial/capital wherewithal. Most consultants have a number of franchises that they work to find candidates for and they will use the information that you provide to identify and present to you companies that match your criteria and companies they think you will be interested in.

The first caveat you should be aware of is that the majority of consultants will only present to you those franchises that fall under their umbrella. You see, the majority of consultants provide their services to you for free because they earn and are paid a commission per an agreement and/or arrangement that they have in place with the franchises they represent. This arrangement reveals an obvious conflict of interest (from the franchise investor perspective) that you should be aware of. Most Franchise Consultants providing free consulting services are really third party sales men or women working for the franchises they represent. Therefore, there is a strong possibility that your Franchise Consultant may not voluntarily make you aware of any potential negative information or publicity on the companies they present to you.

Knowing this, you should now fully understand that the onus of fully vetting any and all franchise or business opportunities that you are considering is totally your responsibility. Don’t assume that the companies you have been presented are all good companies just because they were presented by a Franchise Consultant.

Attraction Marketing Or a Franchise – Which is Best?

November 13th, 2008

What is a franchise and why do people like to invest in them. Usually to the sum of thousands, if not tens of thousands, to buy into them and then another ton of money to operate. What is the attraction?

First, a franchise has a yellow brick road mentality. Everything is laid out for you, no guess work as to what to do next. Everything is step by step and all you have to do is follow what and how the parent company has set up for you making your success almost guaranteed. I don’t think anyone buys into a McDonalds franchise because they have a burning desire to sell hamburgers. They buy in because of the proven marketing system they has in place which all but guarantees their success. All they need to do is come up with 500,000 to a million+ and some operating expense money and their in business. If you have that kind of money, go for it.

Another reason is the idea that “you’re not in this alone”. Once in business, they have their company reps that will come around from time to time to see if you need help or advice. Of course they are also there to make sure your following all company procedures. If your not, you could be penalized and perhaps even lose your franchise. I don’t call that being in your own business if their is someone out there who can take it all away as quickly as you bought into it.

I once owned a small cleaning franchise that cost me about $12,000 up front to buy in for the privilege to represent their company. This was one of the smaller packages. However they it easy to get into business. They set up cleaning accounts, credit accounts at area supply houses so I could walk in and out with the supplies I needed on the strength of the parent company credit backing.

But all this costs more money. There were franchise fees based on monthly billable business, book keeping fees, commissions for salesmen out there getting you more business. All this on top of the 12,000 buy in fee. Does this sound like it could get expensive? In many cases you were simply buying yourself a higher paying job since most of what you did was by your own efforts. This meant 7 days a week and 8-10 hours a day. Sound like something you want to get involved in?

Now, what does this have to do with the franchising and the attraction marketing process?

In many franchise situations, before they give you the keys to the kingdom, they require you attend a company school or training program. McDonald has something called hamburger university. You can learn the Attraction marketing process the same way.

There a university through which you can learn click by click, step by step, how to create a web of content through the internet with hundreds and soon thousands of links all pointing back to you and your product. You will also learn how to take many of the tools we keep hearing about, every time we visit a web site that seems interesting to us, and link them all together with one purpose only, to send people to your web site and product already interest in what you have to offer.

With a franchise form of business, you will never need to guess what to do next. You will have a point by point system all set up for you to follow. The attraction marketing process will do exactly the same with one big exception. Attraction marketing is strictly generic process. learn it and simply product in whether it be online or offline. So if your new to internet marketing or been around the block a few times without getting the results you have been hoping for, you need this system. It works!

Within in a short time, and we are talking only months and not the years normally associated with building a business, you will find that people are looking for you. They will know who you are and what you have to offer. You are now the hunted and not the hunter. Can you imagine how quickly your business and income will grow if all these people were looking for you and you only need to spend your time and money with people wanting to do business with you.

Oh! I almost forgot another very important fact about this attraction marketing process. You can build your business on a very low budget. Most of what you learn will be teaching you how to market cost free or at least at a very low cost. This is the last system you will ever need to know to be successful at internet marketing. Make no mistake about the fact you need to know how to market. Marketing is the life blood of any business so you may as well use the best.

Lender to Lender Franchise

November 12th, 2008

A Financial Franchise That Helps Everyone Win

Our mission at Lender Franchise System, LLC is to help customers take delivery of a vehicle when their credit is not up to current standards, help the auto dealer sell a vehicle, along with additional products, give the dealer and the customer a fair deal, and earn income while helping everyone win. We are now offering non-prime financing franchises to qualified candidates with the ambition, determination and investment capability to develop their own non-prime loan offering. Our franchises include protected territories with comprehensive training in the following areas:Lender to Lender Franchise System

* Sales
* Collection process
* Customer service
* Electronic payments

There are three major categories to deal with in the non-prime financing world:

1. Funding
How much does one fund the auto dealership that sold a vehicle? The funding is directly related to the probability of repayment for each customer.

2. Risk vs reward
What is the potential return on each loan if the customer pays up to the probability that is expected?

3. Probability of repayment
This is the amount of money the customer is expected to repay on the loan, based on history.

Lender to Lender Franchise System Franchise Opportunity_2With our non-prime financing program franchise, your company will fund and collect the payments using the Lender to Lender Franchise System. Your group will control the funding and the financing. Your odds for reliable profits dramatically increase when you can reasonably calculate repayment probabilities, know how much to fund deals and know the potential ROI upfront.

With our system and our training, you should be able to take the mystery out of non-prime auto financing while adding additional sales to each of your dealerships, building a larger customer base and earning significant income.Lender to Lender Franchise System

Our franchise system includes our proprietary ‘probability of repayment’ software. Over the years, we have found that the probability of repayment of a loan is based on several factors. Taking into account over 12,000 different calculations, and with the help of software and several thousand contracts, we have established a basic probability of repayment. There are still factors that cannot be evaluated technologically, such as the helpfulness of the dealership, the quality of the vehicle, the attitude of the customer, the honesty of the information received from the dealership, etc. Those are the responsibility of the dealership. However, our probability report should give a good overall outlook on the repayment of the loan.

Your dealer group will do the funding, which is directly related to the probability of repayment. You will assess your risk and your potential reward and you make the decision. As a National Account you will make the difference in your dealerships and build a larger customer base.

Lender to Lender Franchise System will train and assign an account manager to your account. We will also establish an ongoing system of communication and support that will help you grow a successful non-prime financing business.

Franchise Business Opportunities With Instant Cash Flow

November 12th, 2008

Starting up a new business can be a little nerve-wracking under any conditions, but no less so during an economic decline. It’s tempting to either stay away from new business endeavors entirely or walk into one with serious trepidation, fearing for its survival right from the beginning. It’s a terrible way to start a business, but when you really stop to think about it, the beginning is really one of the most frail times in a franchise’s lifespan, mostly because it takes time to build up business and get cash flowing in on a steady basis. Without that, a business really can’t survive; so to some degree, fear is warranted at the outset of business.

That kind of fear in a franchise business, however, isn’t always necessary, even in recession. If the threat of not having immediate cash flow is more of a weight than you can handle, it’s important to know that there are business opportunities that come with various means of producing cash flow instantly. The following businesses, for one reason or another, are able to provide you with a steady income right off the bat.

Glove Lady

This business for sale provides an instant flow of cash mostly because it provides a product in high demand that few other groups are selling. A low-overhead, work from home business, Glove Lady specializes in selling gloves and other safety equipment. Though it’s a product that many companies need, it’s not one that a lot of companies sell, meaning that a Glove Lady franchisee has a cornered market from day one. And with a state-of-the art management system, customizable marketing system, and personalized website, everything is in place for a highly lucrative local business.

Superior Wash

One of the leading names in the truck-washing industry, Superior Wash has over 25 years of combined experience and can teach any hardworking franchisee how to profit from this simple and well established business model. Everything is provided for each new home based business from the outset: the business plan, cleaning equipment, accounting services, 24/7 support, and best of all, access to a national account list. What the national account list provides is a large number of trucking companies that, with only a call, will prove to be a immediate source of income because they’re already familiar with the Superior Wash name. And with services for each client operating on a weekly, bi-monthly, or monthly basis, that initial income remains a repetitive source of cash flow as new accounts are added.

PIRTEK USA

This is the best franchise opportunity you can find in the manufacturing industry. Universally recognized as a worldwide powerhouse in the hydraulic business, PIRTEK USA provides clients with only the best hoses and other equipment made by the world’s leading makers. What’s more, they’re the only onsite service provider, not only selling hydraulic equipment, but installing, repairing, and maintaining it, all at the customer’s location. Between selling exceptional products and providing exceptional services, it is no wonder that clients new and old recognize PIRTEK USA as a wise choice for servicing their equipment, and thus, there is potential for income immediately.

MOLLY MAID

The biggest name in the home cleaning industry, MOLLY MAID comes to new franchisees with almost instant cash flow, mostly because the name is so widely known. The world’s leading maid service, every new MOLLY MAID home business has instant advertising and brand recognition because nearly everyone has seen a MOLLY MAID car. Even if owned by another franchisee, that publicity bodes well for new franchises. Because advertising is relatively easy, franchisees are mostly just responsible for managing a staff of employed housecleaners, managing business growth, and providing invoicing and accounts receivable.

The Pajama-Man School

They call him the Pajama-Man, and for good reason. Because he works only from home, Andy Ross wears nothing but pajamas while he makes gobs of money brokering health insurance, and with his school, he is more than able to teach others to do the same. By his estimates, Andy makes $500 every day, just off two or three insurance applications from new clients, all without any calling on his part: he simply receives calls and makes sales. His competitors have all asked him numerous times how he has managed such startling success, but he refuses to tell them his secrets; he only tells his students. For only $5,000, you too can become his student and learn how to take advantage of the same kind of business opportunity.

Supercuts

Once again, the key to instant income with one of these franchises is an already strong market presence and a service that everyone needs on an ongoing basis. Everyone recognizes the Supercuts name and logo, and the average person needs a haircut every few weeks or so. Combine those two facts, and you have an instant success as a part of $3bil franchising family with 12,000 functional franchises already in operation. Each store has two streams of income, service and retail sales, and there is already a global marketing system in operation, ensuring that the cash flow you see today will only expand tomorrow.

Getting into business for yourself never comes without its stresses, but wondering whether or not there’s money to be made from the beginning of your franchise’s operational life is not a stress you need to have. As you look for the business opportunity of your dreams, keep an eye peeled for those businesses that provide a steady stream of income from the get-go. Having that little bit more peace of mind goes a long way toward making an even more successful business.

Cartridge Depot franchise

November 11th, 2008

Henry Gillette was famous for saying ‘Give them the handles but make them buy the blades.’ In the world of Inkjet printing, HP, Canon, Lexmark, Epson and the other manufacturers of inkjet printer have expanded on that same principle, often selling their printers for around $100, while their ‘disposable’ cartridges range in cost from 20 – 60 dollars!

In fact, printer ink costs the consumer seven times more per ounce than the most expensive Dom Perignon champagne. Using the same price per quantity ratio of a color HP 78 ink cartridge, a magnum-sized bottle of ink would cost about $1380!

Become a Franchisee
Put yourself and your customers in the black with Inkjet cartridge refills and a Cartridge Depot franchise.

Cartridge Depot is the exclusive North American distributor of the Ink 3000, a machine that has revolutionized the way people think about ink in Europe and South America.

The value proposition driving Cartridge Depot is simple – if an inkjet cartridge can be refilled without compromising its structural integrity – and that cartridge is able to meet the print standards of the original cartridge as measured by output standards and longevity, than a truly valuable service can be offered to the customer.

What separates Cartridge Depot from the rest of the inkjet refill industry? In three words, it’s the quality of our refill technology, the consistency of our ink refills and the adaptability of our product.

Franchising with Cartridge Depot.
Be Green. Make Green.

Buying a Franchise – The Value of a Franchise Fee

November 10th, 2008

Although it may seem like it at times, franchising is not designed to be a partnership between a Franchisor (seller) and a Franchisee (buyer). Instead the relationships is designed to provide the Franchisor with a vehicle to grow it’s business buy bringing in franchisees; who, in turn, are looking to establish a proven business and to minimize their risk of failure.

Potential franchises often think that a franchise fee is how a franchisor makes money. Although it may be true for some, the majority of solid franchise systems utilize the franchise fee to pay for the expense of finding and establishing new franchise owners.

The Franchise Fee, as it is often described by the numerous Franchisors, is the cost of putting the Franchisee into the business of the Franchisor, not as a partner, but as a participant. The fee enables then to recoup the cost of doing that. Some of the Franchisors costs include:

• The cost for a turn key systems provided by Franchisor.
• Training costs, to make sure that the Franchisee is able to operate the systems and the business o Franchisor’s satisfaction
• Marketing and advertising costs Franchisor incurs in order to find qualified franchise Candidates
• Costs of qualifying Candidates including rejecting many unqualified Candidates
• Salaries, travel, & administration, etc.
• Legal expenses to draft agreements defining the methods & terms for the Franchisee to participate (Usually the FDD and related items)
• At times, depending on the franchisor, the costs may also include franchise support during the first few months in business, possible real estate location and/or licensing.

The goal of a Franchisor is to help their owners succeed. The overwhelming majority of successful franchise systems make money by collecting monthly royalty payments from Franchisees, not buy selling the franchise units in particular. If the Franchisor is to survive and grow they must do a solid job of selecting, training and equipping their Franchisees. The Franchise fee pays for just that.

The Significance of Key Metrics in Buying Franchise

November 10th, 2008

Owning a Courier Franchise – A Tough, But Rewarding Opportunity

November 10th, 2008

Many people wanting to start out in business, get fooled into thinking that owning your own courier franchise is easy. After all, how difficult can it be to relocate a number of small packages? One person, relocating a few parcels using one vehicle might be a simple operation. The moment you add more people, more packages, and more delivery destinations, it becomes a real challenge, albeit a profitable one.

A courier franchise is a very profitable business opportunity. Buying into a solid, proven company, means that you access their market leverage. The group has a track record. The group covers a wide area, offering more possibilities to the customer. The group has been branded thoroughly over the years, saving you from having to do so. Being part of a group allows you to share in business generated by other branches, setting you up for a flying start.

As the draw card for customer acquisition is service excellence, you will have to deliver, regardless of what could go wrong. The client has high expectations, and you have to resolve any situations that may arise. Be prepared to deal with vehicle breakdowns, delays in flight schedules, people getting sick, and drivers getting stuck in traffic.

The one advantage of being in such a demanding industry, is the high profitability. The fact that so many factors contribute to management stress, means that many people pass up on this opportunity, making it even more lucrative for those getting into it.

In the quest for efficiency and productivity, the business world relies heavily on the super fast delivery system, and as a courier franchise owner, you have to help make it happen. A courier franchise is hectic, demanding, and extremely profitable. Are you game?
