Which System Works For You

Support is very important when you are a franchisee. Depending on what kind of business you invest in, you will get different kind and different amount of support. It is important to evaluate this so your needs are met. Here are some differences from a small franchise to a large franchise.

One major difference is what people will be your support group. If working with a small franchise, you will have less people to ask for help. However, the small support team will go to all measures to help you, even if they are not an expert in the area you need help. You will also have better relationships with the support group than you would in a bigger franchise. If working for a large franchise, you will have more specialized support. Each person will excel in an area and you will be directed to the person that will be able to help you better. This is an advantage because you will not be used as a test. It is important to look at the different support groups and see which one you will be more comfortable in.

Another difference in is what kind of resources you gain. If working with a large franchise, you will most likely have more access to resources such as outside training programs, real estate and demographic modeling, computer programs and other technical assistance. If working with a smaller franchise, you will most likely only get essential resources. They will focus on giving you resources that will get you up on your feet quickly in a cost efficient way. Either of these ways work. The best way to know if it is effective is by calling up franchisees and seeing if their resources helped them.

Another difference is how many rules and restrictions there are. If working with a smaller franchise, there will be less rules and regulations. You will be more free to experiment and can also question different rules. If working with a large franchise, there are a lot more restrictions. They pretty much have a rule or regulation for every situation you may face. Having lots of rules and regulations brings more stability and expected results compared to a smaller franchise that leaves room for error.

Obviously, there is no franchise that is better than the other in terms of it being small or large. The most important things to watch for is if the franchisees are happy and if you will be comfortable with the system.
