Dinner by Design to expand into Canada, Hawaii
Dinner by Design, the Grayslake-based meal-assembly business, plans to expand its brand for the first time in Canada and Hawaii.
Julie Duffy, president and founder, signed a franchise agreement with three Canadian executives — Phyllis Lemieux, Paul Callingham and Alain Lemieux — who plan to open 24 stores in Ontario over the next two years.
The first part of the expansion will begin in the Ottawa area, the company says. In a separate agreement with executive Judith Hartman, the company will open at least three locations in O’ahu and Maui, Hawaii.
“Our goal is to grow strategically in target markets while carefully managing our trusted brand image of quality and customer service,” says Ms. Duffy, who opened up her first Dinner by Design in 2003.
Dinner by Design has almost 80 franchisee-operated outlets nationwide.
