Papa John’s International Inc. has made a franchise agreement with Michigan-based Alpha Restaurant Group LLC to open 30 Papa John’s restaurants in Detroit within the next six years.

The plan includes the opening of up to four stores by the end of this year, according to a news release.

Alpha Restaurant Group operates fast food and fast casual dining franchises throughout Michigan, Ohio and Pennsylvania.

Louisville-based Papa John’s (NASDAQ: PZZA) has about 3,000 restaurants in the United States and 27 international markets.
